Periyar National Park
Periyar National Park lies in the Idukki district of Kerala and is one of the most popular tourist destinations of the state. The exotic Periyar National Park is a well-known famous tourist for Elephants and Tigers reserve. It is also home to the Periyar National Park in Kerala, which is famed for being a home to numerous species of animals. The nature god’s own state Kerala has its forest area after the construction of Mullaperiyar Dam. Due to the Dam across river Periyar, a formation of an artificial lake in the valley is made. After the 18th and 19th centuries, the hunting area becomes a royal place.
Royal people built Edapalayam Lake Palace for entire royal guest. The park lies in the Cardamom Hills and Pandalam Hills of the Western Ghats. Some of the best attractions are Tiger, Nilgiri Langur, Sambar, Barking Deer, Elephants, Gaur, Wild Pigs that make people more thrilled. The exact location is at the center of Pandalam Hills and Cardamon Hills of Southern Western Ghats. In addition to this tourist place in Periyar National Park, there’s the Thekkady-Periyar village that is popular for being a haven for natural spices, including cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper, clove, and nutmeg.
Starting with 2016, the Periyar Tiger Reserve made the entrance fees to next level. They have separate charges for the entrance fee (Indian, Foreign), Camera Fees (video, still). The fee for boat safari is INR 150 for people above 11 years of age. One cannot only enjoy the attraction in Park, but there are places around the National Park also. Places like Kumily, Cardamon Hills, and Boat Cruises gives you the best traverse across the protected forest. So, as a tip people can stay around the cardamon hills and you can visit all the places around.
