Delhi-Corbett-Dhikala-Corbett National Park
Both my wife and I travelled from Kargil to Zanskar valley in a Scorpio alongwith our driver Vicky last year in July. Even then these 250 km took us 8 hours to traverse.
Our aim was to reach Padum in good light, so we started the journey from Kargil at 5 AM.
Very soon after Kargil, we were in the Suru valley which separates Kargil from the Zanskar valley. The Suru River flowing through this valley keeps it surprisingly green for its altitude of over 3000 meters. However this was the last bit of green we saw for days!rozen river.
My trip to Ladakh was most wonderful and full of adventurous. You will feel the place is Untouched and free of artificial world. It will completely mesmerized you. Loved It…I visited there in janurary 2021
You can feel the warmth of peace and happiness. I had 10 days trek , base camp was leh and then we left for the base camp Chilling where i stayed at tent. then next day onwards my journry began, be prepared to slip on ice sheets, which i slipped so many times that i got used to it.:) i learnt to walk like a penguine thats how you need to walk on Zanskar frozen river.
Chadar Trek (Also referred as frozen river trek) is a walk on the frozen Zanskar river that takes you to the Zanskar region in J&K, India. The ferocious river flowing beneath the frozen layers amidst the mighty mountains on either sides forms the awe-inspiring Zanskar Gorge.
On the way from Srinagar, Kargil to Leh is this place. The confluence of river Sindhu and Zanskar. The valley itself is heavenly beautiful, in spite of no greenery. One has to wait here for absolute peace of mind. The colour shades are amazing.
