if you haven’t seem the Dilwara temples you will find them wonderful but after having seen them this looks like a replica. Though these are much larger in area. Must visit. More popular because of the proximity to Udaipur. A day tour is ideal.
Beautiful sculptures, heavenly calm, neat and clean premises. The temple took 50years to build and is truly worth every moment of it. We were on our way to Mount Abu from Udaipur when we took a detour to this temple and was a great idea since this temple is one of the best of its kind.
You cannot take any kind of camera or mobile within the temple. No leather accessories are allowed either.
Ranakpur Jain Temple is one of the most beautiful temple complexes in India. Built in marble, the temple has 1,444 elaborately carved pillars and none of them are alike. The temple lies in Aravalli valley and can be accessed from Udaipur or Jodhpur. We visited the temple on our way from Udaipur to Jodhpur, which was convenient but it is worth a visit even if you have to make excursion just to see the temple.
At least the most impressive that I’ve seen. There’s so much peace and quiet in the temple, and the details of the stone carvings are marvelous. We didn’t take a guide, but it might have been a good choice. Definitely worth the small detour if you’re travelling between Jodhpur and Udaipur
Went here on recommendation by our driver. Whilst we appreciated the architecture and the carvings in the marble it is a really disappointing temple. Audio guide is all over the place and not consistant with a normal walk around. For the distance to get here you only really need a 5-10 min walk around and then thats it. The monkeys around the temple were the most exciting aspect
